Hoya W-IR800

Finally got the 50mm IR filter mounted in my custom rig, and the 3mm thickness made it easy to seat without any gaps. The optical clarity through the viewfinder is exactly what I needed for infrared landscapes.

I needed a 3mm thick IR filter for a project and this 50x50mm square dropped right into my holder without any shimming. The transmission seems clean through the visible range, and it blocks just enough daylight for the effect I wanted.

Snapped this 50x50mm square into my filter holder for some IR landscape shots and the cutoff past 800nm is exactly what I needed. The 3mm thickness feels solid without adding much weight to the front of the lens.
